I Guess We’ll Burn Kindle Instead of Books

Jeff Bezos thinks physical print on paper books are going away. I was actually talking to someone about this recently, and I remarked that I would be fine with getting rid of paper based books, assuming an electronic version was available that was flexible, and could be marked up. Battery life I’m less worried about (I’ve never read for eight hours straight, although having to plug in a book does seem ridiculous), and I don’t have any sentimental connection to printed books, outside of rare, handwritten, or illustrated books that no longer exist. In fact, I think it would be neat to replace an entire library with one book.

That said, I also think it would be nice to replace malls with parks and force everyone to buy things online. Maybe Jeff will hire me, I think we’re on the same page. Or screen.
